This was the third time we booked Dan and Awareful to deliver an inhouse mental health focused course. 

Dan is a really gifted speaker and teacher, and he has a natural ability to discuss very difficult topics on mental health in a simple, enjoyable and often humorus way. Feedback received from the staff was that he also explained the concept of mindfulness and meditation with a very experieniential and transparent outlook. We will not be looking at any heavy, deep meditations, very light, contemplation and enquiry style.
The focus will be on the foundations with greater opportunity for awareness through periods of silence:

WEEK 1 – 6 Breaths & Awarefulness – What to expect – What is Meditation/Mindfulness – The purpose of meditation & Mindfulness

WEEK 2 – Extending our Breath – Thich Nhat Hanh inspired Meditation– Hurdles to our practise – Why we practise – Losing the judgement – Meditation vs relaxation

WEEK 3 – Sound Meditation & Breathing Meditation – Noticing distractions – using mindfulness through distraction

WEEK 4 – Mind is like the sky Meditation– (meditation on thoughts) – Why would seeing the mind being like the sky be effective? – The nature of our mind & our Monkey Mind

WEEK 5 – Body Scan Meditation (x 2) – Embodiment and its importance in mindfulness and remaining calm

WEEK 6 – Breathing Compassion – Why Compassion is so important and Compassion in Action.

MindFul Practice

Attendees will be given a log sheetand tasks to deepen and embed their practice at home.

There will also be audio recordings of the meditations practiced on the day added to a dropbox or onedrive account and emailed within 48 hours of the class.

Support

Over the 6 & 10 week courses the teacher, Dan Ireland will be available via email and telephone for any questions, concerns, thoughts and hints to assist with the practice.

Total Cost

If you would like a course of 6 weeks, I would be very happy to do a 45 minute workshop one lunch time for free entitiled an introduction into Mindfulness.

We have set course costs up to 15 staff attendees and over 15 staff attendees.
