Defining Meditation:
This week is a short little talk and short practice just to get us moving…
So…. Defining Meditation… just a brief outline for you… Let’s move away from the word meditation and start using mind training or systematic training of the mind…
Meditation makes you feel like sometimes as a chore… whereas it really is to be loved and practiced to help understand how we are thinking and feeling about our current (or pervious) environment.
With the mind training we are purposely or consciously guiding our attention back onto the breath… this is known as Calm Abiding… it allows the mind to be more flexible, more pliable.
With that flexibility it help us to contemplate on our current reality… begin to become more intimate with these emotions… “we fear them less” as much loved teacher Pema Chodron says…
